Telly Awards 2005 - An affair to remember!

The Fifth Indian Telly Awards was an extravaganza that was attended by the who's who of Indian television. It was an event that honoured the best performances on television in the year gone by. Jassi bonanza Sony's Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin scored a coup of sorts with the best actor in both the categories were awarded to their leads -- Mona Singh and Apoorva Agnihotri. Mona, who came in with her parents, looked ecstatic while accepting her award from Karan Oberoi. Jassi... also won the Best Daily Serial Award of the Year Award. Tony and Deeya Singh received the award from Delnaz and Rajeev Paul. Jodi's day out! Real life couple, Hiten Tejwani and Guari Pradhan took home awards for the best supporting actors and their crowning glory was their show Kyunki..., winning the best continuing TV programme award. The award was collected by Ekta Kapoor herself, who had come in with her producers. Sarrkkar ruled! The Zee show was crowned with the Best Ensemble Award and producer, Manish Goswami called the entire cast on stage to celebrate the victory. Stylishly your's Aamna Shariff and Shabbir Ahluwalia were adjudged the Style Icons of the year. Interestingly Aamna was also nominated for the style Icon award in the recently concluded MTV Lycra awards, but she missed out while Rajeev was adjudged the most stylish man on television Angad and Miilee score big! Mona Wasu and Iqbal Khan won the Best Fresh New Face of the Year award and the duo were all smiles while receiving the award. Personality personified Rajeev Khandelwal won the Best Television Personality of the year award. The actor had bagged the same award at the Fourth Indian Telly Awards as well.
