Thamizh is not only a language but also a way of life for every Thamizhian. Vijay TV in its efforts to promote the language Thamizh presents ‘Aachi Thamizh Pechu Engal Moochu’, the first ever search for the best Thamizh orator in Tamilnadu.
Speaking about the program, Mr.K.Sriram, Head Vijay TV says, “The programme is our way of thanking and respecting our language Tamil and the great scholars who were and are associated with it and this program in a small way would promote the art of speaking in good Tamil”.
This show is inspired by the greatest Tamil orators like Kalaignar Mu. Karunanidhi, Arignar Anna, Solomon Pappiya, Kripananda Variar, Vaiko, Variamuthu and many others, who’d emerge as the best Tamil orator in Tamilnadu. It was an intensive statewide hunt for the most competent Tamil orators from across the state scanning cities like Salem, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Thirunelveli and Chennai.
In the audition stage, the participants were made to choose from a Tamil “ letter”, “ word”, or “sentence” who spoke extempore. From the 6 zones, over 200 best orators were selected and they were put to task at various levels of competition. Post elimination, 30 final contestants will be chosen and they will be put to test in many rounds varying from Story Narration, Poetry recital, Pattimandram, Elocution, etc.,
Renowned Tamil scholars, ‘Thamizh Kadal’ Nellai Kannan and Arivumathi judged the competition.
The winner will be titled “Best Tamil Orator of Tamilnadu” with prize money of Rs 5 lakh.
With original themes, best orators, innovative rounds – the novel Tamil reality show ‘Aachi Thamizh Pechu Engal Muchu’ launches March 2, 2008; every Sunday at 9am only on Vijay TV.
