There's an interesting story behind Disha Vakani AKA Dayaben's unique accent in TMKOC

Disha Vakani who played the role of Dayaben in the show is still remembered for her role even though she has not been a part of it lately.

MUMBAI: Disha Vakani became a household name after she starred in SAB TV's longest-running show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. The actress played the role of Gujarati housewife Dayaben in the show and her character instantly became famous among the viewers.

Disha was a part of the show from day one till the time she made an exit after she went on maternity leave in 2017. Since then, the diehard fans of Disha are missing her in the show. While there is no clarity on Disha's return, the show is still doing its best to entertain the viewers and also topping the TRP charts.

Talking about Disha's character which is unique in its own way, what makes it completely different and livelier is the way Disha spoke. The actress adopted a unique accent in the show which added more flavour to her character.

Well, not many are aware that the way Disha spoke in the show, its’ not her real tone. The actress purposely spoke in a different accent for her character.

Disha had once revealed the story behind it and said that she adopted this idea of speaking in a loud pitch and giving a unique style to her accent from her past days of theatre. Well, there were no microphones years ago while they used to perform plays and the actors had to be loud and clear with their lines too.

Vakani used to use this technique and eventually, one day, this became extremely useful for her role in Taarak Mehta.
