MUMBAI: There are many talented actors in our telly town who have been entertaining the viewers with their acting chops. They try to play varied roles in their career. However, there are some actors who refuse to play older characters on the small screen.

What is the reason behind their refusal? The one common reason why most of the TV actors end up quitting their popular shows is because of the leaps. The viewers have seen how a lot of actors refuse to play the role of a mother/father to avoid ageing in front of the camera.

So, let’s take a look at the list of actors who refused to play older characters in TV shows.

Nia Sharma: One of the most popular and stylish actresses, Nia Sharma was an integral part of Jamai Raja until the time the makers decided to take a 20-year leap. The actress did not want to age on the screen that’s why she moved on.

Mohit Sehgal:  The actor too had no wish to play the role of a father so soon in his career. Hence he politely refused to be a part of his show Sarojini post the leap.

Eisha Singh: Ishq Ka Rang Safed made Eisha Singh a household name. Fans loved her performance. She too was asked to play a mother in the show after the leap. Being a teenager, she was not comfortable playing a mother on screen.

Drashti Dhami: Drashti’s performance in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani garnered appreciations. The show struck the right chord with the masses and so did Drashti's character. Later, the show took a leap.
