MUMBAI: TV serial director Rajan Shahi is the owner of the Mumbai-based television production company 'Director's Kut Productions', which was established in 2007.

In 1993, Shahi started his career as an assistant director. In 1999, Shahi made his directorial debut with the series Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi.

1. Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai

This show was launched in the year 2007 on Star Plus, which targeted the concept of racial discrimination at the societal level. It ended in 2010.

The plot revolved around a father and his 2 daughters - 'Sadhana' (played by 'Sana Khan') and Ragini (played by 'Parul Chauhan'). Ragini's mother was insecured of Sadhana for her fair skin as Ragini was dark-skinned. The story further revolved around the girls' post-marital life and their in-laws.

2. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

This Indian television soap opera airs on Star Plus and streams on Hotstar. It premiered on 12 January 2009 and is the fourth longest-running Indian television soap opera. 

It initially starred Hina Khan (as 'Akshara') and Karan Mehra (as 'Naitik') and is currently focussing on their kids' story - Shivangi Joshi (as 'Naira') and Mohsin Khan (as 'Kartik').

3. Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke

This Indian drama television series aired from 18 March 2019 to 17 October 2020 on Star Plus. 

It was a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and had garnered immense popularity for redefining ideologies and showcasing the shattering of social stigmas.

It starred Rhea Sharma (as 'Mishti') and Shaheer Sheikh (as 'Abeer') in the lead roles.

4.  Tere Sheher Mein

This Indian television drama series aired on Star Plus from 2 March 2015 to 14 November 2015. 

The show starred Hiba Nawab, Dhruv Bhandari, Anjum Fakih, Gautami Kapoor, Isha Mishra, Sana Amin Sheikh, Kinshuk Mahajan and S. M. Zaheer in the lead roles. 

It's plot revolved around a pampered daughter of a rich Indian business tycoon, who, along with her family was forced to move to Varanasi from Paris for facing financial problems after the death of her father. 

5. Itti Si Khushi

This Hindi TV soap aired from 2014-2015 on Sony Entertainment Television.

It starred Anuj Sachdeva (as 'Aman Goyal') as the male lead, while the female lead played the character of 'Neha'. 

The plot focusses on Neha, who after slipping into a coma in her childhood, wakes up after twelve years. She wants to relive her life and experience everything that she has missed.

6. Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

This Indian Hindi-television soap aired on Sony Entertainment Television India from 3 October 2011 to 28 March 2013. 

It was loosely based on the Pakistani television drama Dhoop Kinare. 

The plot is of a love story revolving around a team of doctors working at Dr. Kotnis General Hospital in Lucknow and starred Kritika Kamra, Sharad Kelkar, Mohnish Behl and Rukhsar Rehman in the lead roles.
