It was the first talk show on sex on Indian TV, and it made a lot of people stand up and address issues about sex, a word still taboo in this country. But Zoom's late night show Dangerous went off air end May --- and no one noticed.
Or perhaps audiences did, but there is hardly a forum where they can express their grievances against the media!

It was the first talk show on sex on Indian TV, and it made a lot of people stand up and address issues about sex, a word still taboo in this country. But Zoom's late night show Dangerous went off air end May --- and no one noticed.

Why was Dangerous taken off air? There are many versions as to the reason, some predictable, others unexpected. "It was going great guns and the kind of responses I was getting was awesome," says the show's co-host Samir Kochar, who will soon be seen in a movie called, Bombay Saloon 24x7 Unisex. Although Samir declined to comment on the sudden demise of Dangerous, he accepted that there were some problems that had occurred. "You will have to ask the channel about this, all I know is that there was some talk of a revamp that was taking place," is all that Samir lets out.
We assumed that the show was off-air because of its 'hot quotient', an assumption that Samir diffuses ---"Contrary to popular belief, the show was very popular. Women from rural areas would call up and ask for solutions. The USP of the show was that we talked, never preached."
Our sources however tell us that Dangerous was too hot to handle for the government. The show supposedly tread on dangerous ground due to its 'sexy' content. The ministry apparently believed that these things are to be discussed in the privacy of one's home and not on popular television --- after all 11:30 pm is too early for a 21st century kid! All we can say is that it is time that they grow up!
The official take however on the mater is, "It's a season break!"
Samir perhaps gives the one totally unacceptable version --- "I am too hot...I got mobbed, that's why the show went off air!"
Very modest, Mr Kochar.
