TV producers rush to cash in on Dhanush "Kolaveri di's" popularity

Dhanush, the name is enough for millions to scream their heart out –as the kid is now super famous – and later sing in unison the most hummable and well-structured song of the year, Kolaveri Di. The son-in-law of the megastar Rajnikant, he has emerged as the new singing sensation of this country. His song has been watched for more than 20 million times on the internet all across the globe. “He is a big star down South in the Tamil film industry. He is first an actor and then a singer and a musician. He wrote and sang Kolaveri Di and never thought that it will become such a rage all across the globe. The song is everywhere and suddenly he is perched on top of the popularity chart,” says Sunil Doshi, Founder and Promoter of talent management agency Alliance Media and Entertainment, who is currently representing Dhanush. Now, TV producers suddenly want Dhanush to appear in their shows and help them gain eyeballs. Tellychakkar.com already reported that the singing sensation is all set to appear in the grand finale of Zee TV’s Star Ya Rockstar on 10 December, 2011. “He is being approached to make an appearance on many musical-based reality shows and other shows as well. For example, apart from many offers from down South and the Bengali TV industry, Dhanush has been approached by Imagine channel and others for promotional campaigns. Right now nothing has been finalized yet but soon he will decide his next appearance on TV,” Sunil went on to say. Well, Dhanush is one chalta-firta jhakaas marketing campaign. His one appearance on any show is enough to send its TRPs soaring. And Dhanush is aware that he is a big name now. But when asked about his new gained popularity, Dhanush chose to answer rather humbly – which is mark of a good professional and a great human being. “I am quite glad and overwhelmed by the response. Yes, I have been receiving a lot of offers to appear on different shows on GECs, but things are yet to get finalized. I sang Kolaveri pretty ordinarily but it became more than extraordinary. I thank everyone for the love and appreciation.” Fair enough, Dhanush. But any plans to make an appearance in Bollywood movies in the future, “Well, I will continue acting in Tamil movies, but yes, I want to direct Bollywood flicks. I am writing a script currently and will be done in the next couple of months,” signs off Dhanush.
