Twinkle Bajpai offered Jhansi Ki Rani

Much has been written about Zee TV’s magnum-opus Jhansi Ki Rani. Following a fall-out between the channel and Innovative 9 the show would now be produced by Contiloe Telefilms. Tellychakkar also reported that Kritika Sengar and Ulka Gupta will play the young and teenaged Rani Lakshmi Bai. Now there is yet another interesting news on the show. According to sources, both the production house had approached singer turned actress Twinkle Bajpai. Informs a source, “Twinkle Bajpai who shot to fame as a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant got into acting and was seen as the protagonist Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann. Later she quit the show to play Vaidehi in Balaji’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She was then offered to play the lead in Jhansi Ki Rani. Later when Contiloe took over as the new producer, they too approached Twinkle to play the lead but she couldn’t accept owing to her prior commitments.” When contacted, Twinkle Bajpai said, “I can’t comment on it.” The actress is currently busy doing stage shows.
