MUMBAI: Star Plus show Udne Ki Aasha recently touched upon a social cause of domestic violence. The show featured Sailee taking a firm stand against the same and getting justice for Manjiri, a maid who suffered domestic violence at the hands of her husband.
TellyChakkar.com got in touch with Neha Harsora who plays the character of Sailee in the show and asked her about the grave issue of domestic violence which is still persistent in our society.

Neha Harsora said, "I think everyone should take a stand against it (domestic) and there should be open discussion about the same. I believe the victims of domestic abuse are made to feel that it's quite normal to face it as their mothers or mothers-in-law also faced it. I think we should stop normalizing it and also it shouldn't be taken casually and brushed under the carpet. People should talk to their families and families should also extend support."
"I am not saying that one should directly put their foot down, but I feel they should discuss it with friends or anyone who can help them deal with the situation. Let's not normalize and take it casually. It shouldn't happen to anyone. This issue not only requires the victim to be aware, the families should also be aware."
This special track will end in tonight's episode wherein the victim Manjiri decides to file a police complaint against her abuser and relocates to her village and starts her life afresh.
