Varun Badola has given life to quite a lot of complex characters on television like his on Koshish Ek Asha, Astitva Ek Prem Kahaani, Des Main Nikla Hoga Chand etc… His present characterization of Thakur Vikram Singh on Zee TV’s Phir Subah Hogi, produced by IMRC Entertainment Pvt. Ltd is yet another challenging role that has lots to offer. Talking about his role to Tellychakkar.com, Varun says, “Every role is a challenge. All that I would look for as an actor is the progression in the character I play, and the manner in which the character will behave after reaching a particular point.” Ask him about the character of Thakur Vikram and he says, “Frankly speaking, I have just gotten to the 50% mark when it comes to essaying the character. As of now, I am shooting scenes wherein the makers have shown a slight romantic angle between Vikram and Sugni. And as per the story line, we have not even got to the main crux of the story. So I don’t know if the makers would carry on with the romantic angle, or will turn my character to complete grey.” We could not stop from asking him whether his character is that of a protagonist or antagonist in the show and like every seasoned actor would say, he shared, “It does not matter to me whether I am playing a protagonist or the antagonist. The bottom line is that viewers have to switch on the TV and watch the show. As an actor I have reached a stage where I believe that the makers, producer, writer etc have more vision on my role and show. So I just believe in myself and feel good. It’s always nice to be playing the fringy characters which are neither black nor white.” Well said, Varun!!
