MUMBAI:Popular Marathi actor Ramesh Bhatkar passed away today (Monday) after a long battle with cancer.
The veteran actor breathed his last at Elizabeth Hospital in Mumbai.
After being detected with cancer, Ramesh (69) wanted to utilize his remaining life acting.
He was last seen in Anupam Kher’s Accidental Prime Minister, wherein he portrayed the character of Maharashtra’s ex-CM Prithviraj Chauhan.
He was well known for his work in theatre, movies, and TV shows like Ashrunchi Zali Phuley, Damini, Tu Teethe Mee, and Maherchi Saree.
Ironically, he departed for his heavenly abode on World Cancer Day.
