#ViewersSpeak: Seriously! Does spiking food and planning evil tactics against each other define ‘ENTERTAINMENT’ in this DNA age?

There are some shows that speak about independent women who take a stand for themselves but then there are some shows which are based on kitchen politics and the dramas are such that they are going backwards.

MUMBAI: There are a lot of interesting shows on television and most of us might agree that the shows are primarily matriarchal in nature.

Shows like Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2, Imlie, Anupamaa among other shows have showcased show the female protagonist, the 'ideal bahu' of the house is always appreciated if she does something good. But then there is too much expected out of her. And one thing which does she does not do or the situation she might not be responsible for, she is held responsible and not only that, she is bashed left, right and centre for it!

It was only recently that we reported how while there are many shows which are being produced keeping in mind the glamour quotient along with a gripping storyline, while the content is closer to reality, the costumes and designs that the characters are accessorized with takes it equally away from reality. Well, drawing an analysis on the same, if we were to see, there are some shows that speak about independent women who take a stand for themselves but then there are some shows which are based on kitchen politics and the dramas are such that they are going backwards.

Take a look at what the audience has to say:

Dipali Shah shared, “I just don’t understand! The women of today’s generation are creative, more focused on work, social life is improved and are no longer just living in their houses cooking food. In that spiking the food drama and all is so cliché!” (Also Read: https://www.tellychakkar.com/tv/tv-news/audience-speak-imlie-getting-monotonous-each-passing-day-needs-introduce-big-twist)

Nyra Chavan expressed, “Some shows are moving the regressive way. Where on one end there are people promoting girl education, such shows are promoting the sad mentality which was probably there once a time, however not in a way that people meant so evil for one another.”

Aishwarya Vakharia mentioned, “People say that this is audience’s demand. Who demands such drama? Have the writers lived in house households? Talking about villages, I come from a village and no, people do not come from this mentality.”

Sabhyata Jain opined, “I don’t think such concepts have to be taken seriously! After all it is a TV show.”

Sonal Vichare said, “These shows are solely for entertainment purposes. It is for the audience to watch and enjoy themselves. Why would people watch a show if it was bland and did not have a vamp. The concept of vamps spicing up shows is from a long ago!”
