MUMBAI: Vihan Verma is recognized for his acting skills and has garnered a strong fan following for his performances. He became a household name after playing Mohit in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the young actor shared how he celebrates the festival and said, "Makar Sankranti brings back so many fond memories. As a child, it was one of my favorite festivals, especially because of the beautiful kites filling the sky at sunset. While I don’t celebrate it as much now, it still holds a special place in my heart."

Vihan revealed the Sankranti rituals that he follows and added, "We have a few cherished traditions. We begin the day with a puja to worship Surya Dev (Sun God) and enjoy seasonal delicacies like tilgul. Sharing tilgul while saying, ‘Tilgul ghya, god god bola,’ is a beloved ritual, followed by a festive family meal that strengthens our bond."

The actor recalled flying kites on this auspicious occasion as a child and continued by saying, "Growing up in Mumbai, we lived in buildings, and kite flying meant sneaking onto the terrace, which was usually locked by security. We kids would plan to ‘borrow’ the keys and enjoy our kite-flying adventures, making those moments unforgettable."

"I used to love it, especially as a kid. The excitement of kite-flying was unmatched. Now, I’m more conscious of the harm it can cause to birds, so I focus on enjoying the festive treats instead, which I eagerly look forward to every year," he added.

Vihan also expressed his love for sweets like tilgul, which are usually cherished on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. "Freshly made, warm tilgul has a taste that’s both comforting and delicious. It’s the one treat I always look forward to during Makar Sankranti," he concluded.
