Vikrant Massey, the actor who essays the role of Dharm in NDTV Imagine’s Dharm Veer now has his eyes set on Bollywood. Not that this is anything new for the small screen actors. With more and more actors using TV as a springboard to the big screen Vikram is yet one more star. We chatted up with Vikram to know about his future plans. “I’m looking forward to a good career in Bollywood. My ideal is Ajay Devgan for the way he presents himself. He lets his work speak for him. One day it will be the same with me,” says Vikrant. So Vikrant is not interested in becoming the SRK or Akshay of the industry? “I don’t want to be like them. There are so many stars like Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan who have scored well in both the mediums,” he says. What is the USP of this actor and he states, “My USP is dancing. I had earlier worked with Shiamak Davar for two years but due to an accident I had to quit the profession. Now I’m perfectly fit and fine and ready to create waves on the silver screen too.” “My dancing ability is getting overshadowed on television. It’s not that I’m unhappy being on the small screen, I feel proud as T.V has given me recognition but one needs to go further. I really want to give a shot in Bollywood,” he adds further. So is Vikrant planning to bid adieu to television? “As I said earlier for me it’s all about good work for me. If tomorrow after entering the film industry I receive any good offer on television I’ll go for it,” informs the actor. “There are so many films stars that are also doing television simultaneously. Even the TV stars who had moved on to movies are giving their best shots on the small screen. I know I can balance both so why not do it,” he verbalizes. Is there anything in the pipeline? “For now my priority is Dharm Veer as I’m in contract with the production house. It will end in September and only after that I’ll try my hands at something else. I’m enjoying myself as Dharm and working hard to achieve my goals,” With so many small screen actors already queuing up at the Bollywood gates we only hope that Vikrant gets a leg in.
