Vipul Gupta (aka Aditya of India Calling fame) marks his return to TV with Zee Next’s Pyar, Ishq aur Mohabbat. The actor, whose last show Four didn’t quite blossom, doesn’t have any insecurity regarding his career. “I have become very choosy as I’m keeping an eye on Bollywood. Besides, I don’t need serials to earn money now.” says Vipul With Bollywood dreams in his sight, what’s the reason for doing a TV show? Vipul replies “I liked the concept of the show and secondly it will wind up in 64 episodes, which will not take much of my time. However, I want to clear that I never said that TV is not good. It definitely is the strongest medium as it gives instant popularity.” Speaking on his character Vipul says “I play Manav, an NRI who returns to India. My character is similar to William Darcy of Bride and Prejudice. Obviously, just add more masala to it. It definitely feels good to play pewit where all three girls come to me. Usually, in most TV shows, the men end up marrying the lead protagonist but I’m lucky to have three girls root for me. I’m really looking forward for the show to go on air.” With Vipul not too keen on doing more TV shows, has Bollywood opened its doors for him? The actor comes up with a clichéd reply, “Well, I have been meeting few big people. However, nothing has been finalised yet but I’m hoping that soon something good will materialise. That’s the reason for doing just one show at a time as I don’t want to over expose myself.” We don’t know about over exposure but Vipul surely has something to fall back upon incase his Bollywood dreams don’t materialise.
