MUMBAI: In a dramatic turn of events, the simmering tension between singer Rahul Vaidya and fans of Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has escalated further, as Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli, has now stepped in to defend his sibling.

The controversy began when Rahul Vaidya mocked Kohli for allegedly liking a photo of actress Avneet Kaur on a fan page. Labelling Kohli and his fans as “jokers,” Vaidya’s remarks did not sit well with netizens, sparking a wave of online outrage. Kohli’s supporters lashed out at the singer, flooding social media with criticism and abusive comments.

Until now, there had been no response from anyone within Kohli’s camp. However, that silence was broken today when Vikas Kohli publicly slammed the singer, accusing him of trying to gain fame off Virat’s name.

Taking to social media, Vikas wrote:"Bachhe, itni mehnat agar apni singing par kar le to shayad apni mehnat se famous ho jaaye... While the whole nation is focused on the current situation, this idiot is on a mission to gain followers by dragging Virat's name. What a loser."

His sharp words have further fuelled the fire, with fans now urging others to amplify Vikas’s message across platforms, determined to ‘teach the singer a lesson’. Many believe this public statement has intensified the situation, and the feud shows no signs of dying down.

What initially seemed like a minor social media spat has quickly evolved into a full-blown controversy. As fans continue to defend their idol and Vaidya holds his ground, it appears this celebrity clash is far from over.
