
MUMBAI: In a heartfelt announcement that left fans emotional, music maestro Vishal Dadlani has
officially stepped down as a judge on Indian Idol after an illustrious six-season stint. The much-loved singer-composer shared the news via social media, posting a video from the grand finale and expressing deep gratitude for the journey.
“Alvida, yaaro,” he wrote. “Six seasons filled with joy, love, and incredible memories. I’m eternally grateful to everyone involved and hope the show misses me as much as I’ll miss it.”
Dadlani revealed that the decision stemmed from his desire to reclaim personal time. “I simply can’t remain in Mumbai for six months every year,” he explained. He also took the opportunity to thank his fellow judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah, as well as the entire production team, musicians, crew, and support staff for their unwavering camaraderie and dedication.

He ended his message on a spirited note, saying it’s time to return to making music, performing live, and enjoying the freedom of not wearing make-up—declaring, “It’s #VishalAndSheykhar season! Jai ho.”
Meanwhile, the season concluded with a high note as the exceptionally talented Manasi Ghosh clinched the winner’s title, leaving audiences spellbound with her performances.
Dadlani’s departure marks the end of an era, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt deeply by fans and fellow artists alike.
