Want to crack a job interview? Join Deepika coaching classes

Deepika Singh
With the current track seeing Sandhya giving her tough UPSC interviews in Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum (Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt. Ltd) we spoke to the lovely Deepika Singh about her personal experience of being on the interview table. The bubbly girl laughs, “I have done my MBA and have faced a lot of interviews. And I actually used to go for audition and interviews side by side. Since everyone in my friend’s circle used to go for interviews I too followed suit and used to go for interviews every week.” “I was looking after my father’s business so did not really require a job, but it was more for polishing my skills and becoming more confident that I used to attend interviews. I wanted to explore myself more and to know my capabilities and ineptness well,” she adds. Deepika who used to supervise her father’s business of clothes manufacturing was well settled, but her qualities helped her grab a job in her first interview. Talking about the biggest challenge an interviewee can face, she quips, “See they are not at all difficult. The basic questions that they ask are why you want to be in the job and why you left your previous company. Just having good reasons for both can help you get an upper hand.” “Even when I was thankfully never in a need of a job, I was a pro at these questions and when I used to get a confirmation, I actually had to lie giving reasons like the company is too far or my parents are not allowing me to work. I was a big jhooti in this perspective,” she laughs loudly. Well, finding out her expertise at the interview table, we asked Deepika for some tips to people who will appear for an interview. Obliging happily the young actor avers, “The first thing is be honest- the people sitting on the other side are more experienced than you and can sense falseness easily. Secondly keep a check on your body language; it’s very important to come across as a positive and active person.” “Know what you are speaking and be confident. And it’s not a crime to not know something, so if you are not familiar with a topic, make that clear to the interviewers. Also be sharp and quick with your answers and always have a smile on your face,” she concludes. Deepika we definitely applaud your knowledge on interviews and guess that is the reason for Sandhya’s confidence too. As for the readers, we are sure you got some handy tips from the girl!!!
