MUMBAI: The COVID-19 pandemic not just spoiled our festivals in 2020, but a lot of personal celebrations were put on hold due to it too. Some couldn't celebrate their anniversaries or their kid's birthdays and hoped to have a grand celebration in 2021, but looking at the current surge in the cases, looks like the celebrations will be postponed until next year. Piew Jana, who was last seen in "Krishna Chali London", is also one of those who had to cancel a family celebration due to COVID-19.
The actress wanted to have a destination annaprashan for her niece, Hiya Jana, but looking at the increasing COVID cases she had to cancel her plans. She said, "I love my niece a lot. She is my angel. She is so special for all of us and I wanted to do something to thank her for coming into our lives. I had spoken to my brother that I will arrange for a destination annaprashan for her, and we were all very excited about it. We had planned to have it in Goa, but looking at the increase in number of COVID cases in Maharashtra, we had to cancel our plans."Piew said she didn't want to take any risk with Hiya and said, "Even adults are scared of traveling these days, and I feel people should still stay home and go out only if it is very urgent. Hiya is just a small baby and I don't want her health to get affected just because I wanted to do something for her. May be later, once the COVID-19 is gone forever, or we are not at risk of contracting it, then I will plan something special for my darling."
The "Zindagi Ki Mehek" actress shared that though she has always been affectionate towards kids, it's special with her niece."I have always enjoyed playing with kids, even during my college days all the kids in my locality used to come to my house do play. But with Hiya it's special because she is the first born child in the family after us and I get strong maternal instincts for her. In fact after her birth, she came into my lap first, and so I think I share a very special bond with her," Piew concluded.
