So it's Xmas time! What do India's TV stars have to say about this festival of giving which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem more than 2000 years ago? What do they think about Santa Claus? We, at Tellychakkar.com decided to find out.
Our first stop was Drashti Dhami who is the heartthrob of millions of fans and was voted as the most desirable woman on Indian TV in 2011 in Tellychakkar.com year ender poll. Says she: “Christmas is a fun festival, I will be attending a Christmas party in my friend Melanie Pais’ place (her co-actor from Geet who played Nandini). If granted a wish from Santa himself, I would love to ask for some peace in my mind as I am a very short-tempered person.”
Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani's Rithvik Dhanjani has no such luck of going to a party as he will be busy shooting the whole day, but he says he would like to have Santa make his dream come true. And pray, what is that? Let Rithvik narrate it to you. Here it goes: “I dream that there is a huge auditorium with a big stage. My name Rithvik Dhanjani is flashing in fire on the stage. And I am performing above that blazing name. There's a large audience out there and they are applauding for me and they are cheering for me. Boy!! If that comes true, I will have achieved something in life."
For his colleague from the show, Siddhant Karnick, 25 December is special as it is his parent’s wedding anniversary. "So I am super excited," says Siddhant. “However, when it comes to granting me a wish, I will ask Santa Sir, to make me Santa Claus so that all the beautiful ladies could come and sit on my lap. I mean everybody is allowed."
For Catholics such as Krystle D’souza, the lead protagonist of Ek Hazaaron Main Meri Behna Hai, it is a time to reflect on God and pray. Though she will be shooting almost the entire day, she plans to attend midnight mass. "I will be going to my parish church and will welcome Lord Jesus Christ," she says.
Some of the stars are praying, some are working and yet some others are partying this Christmas, but what Alex O Neil is doing is totally different. “My house is getting renovated so I am having my Christmas along with cement and parts of my wooden furniture,” says Alex guffawing out aloud. “But I am also planning to decorate a Christmas tree and hang around with friends. Ahmm! Santa Claus is a special man and frankly speaking, if I were granted a wish from him, I would simply ask for US $5 million," he says.
Santa, we know you are listening! We, at Tellychakkar.com will make all these stars of Indian TV's dreams come true!
Merry Xmas! One and all!
