When I took my mother to Vrindavan and Mathura

A page from the personal diary of Romit Raj I am very close to my mother and she means the world to me. I always want to see her smiling and it was my dream to take her to a pilgrimage at some point in my life. I did not know it will happen so soon and just last week I took her to Vrindavan and Mathura and a few other holy places. She always wanted to visit Lord Krishna’s birthplace and I am happy to have fulfilled her wish. My cousin was getting married in Delhi and after the wedding I had some time on hand which I spent with my mother. I took her to the Agra Fort first, then to the Taj Mahal and then we headed towards Vrindavan and Mathura. We also went to the Shaikh Salim Chisti Dargah is in Fatehpur Sikri and ended our trip. Around five years ago I was to shoot for my debut film Hum Dum in Agra. I was happy because I thought I would get a chance to see the Taj Mahal. But the shooting schedule got canceled and we shot in Goa. I always wanted to go there and taking my mother along with me was like a God’s gift. My mother was so happy to have me all by her side for the first time. Seeing her happy was the most satisfying thing for me. Vrindavan and Mathura are lovely places and the days I spent there will always remain special for my mother and me.
