When I was shooting in Gulmarg for Jaan, I had to walk bare feet - Kishori Shahane

Kishori Shahane
The casting director of Life OK’s Do Dil... Ek Jaan (Nautanki Films) made the perfect choice by choosing the beautiful and elegant Kishori Shahane to play the educated, graceful and dignified Geeta Kaul. Her features are soft with a touch of classical beauty which gives her the looks of a very pretty Kashmiri lady. In the show her character is of Kashmiri origin. Kishori speaking of her experience of shooting in Kashmir says, “The climate was great out there. When I was shooting in Gulmarg, I had to walk bare feet. I returned from the 6 degree Celcius temperature in Kashmir to the warm 36 degree Celcius of Mumbai.” She is full of reverence for Farooq Sheikh who played her husband Ashok Kaul on the show. “He is such a senior actor yet so modest and down-to-earth.” The actress who has made her presence in films, TV and theatre says, “My Hindi and Marathi films have revived my celebrity status especially when they have been re-telecast on television. In TV serials I have got to play a variety of characters. In films I get the opportunity of playing more characters which are closer to my natural self and my real age. In soaps, actresses who are young often have to play grandmothers and mothers to adults- that doesn’t happen all that much in films.” In future you will see the actress in the films Narbachi Wadi by Pintu Guha, Ya Rub a movie on Hindu Muslim unity in which she plays the wife of Pakistani actor Manzar Sehbai and Badlapur Boys.
