It was one helluva sticky situation!!!
Zee TV's Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed (Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd) has been in news recently for its lead face, Rubina Dilaik being eased out of the show due to creative changes in track.
But action never seems to cease on the sets of this show, both on and off screen.
A very funny sort of incident occurred when an actress from the soap went to use the washroom soon after her shot got over, only to get stuck there….forever…well almost!!!
Yes, we are talking about actress Nazea Sayed who essays the role of Sheela.
What really happened? The actress went inside the loo only to discover later that the latch was so tight, that she could not open it.
Aha…freaky scenario!!!
So how did she finally get out?
Well, as the saying goes, when one door shuts, another opens (ha ha). And in the case of Nazea , the saving grace came through the small window (roshandaan) present in the washroom.
Says a source, “Thankfully, when Nazea entered the washroom, there was another actor dressing up in the room (washroom was located inside the room). So Nazea managed to reach out to her co-actor seeking help. Immediately, the production people were called to help. Since Nazea was caught up in the first floor’s washroom, the production team had to arrange for a stairs, climb on to reach the window of the washroom, open it and get Nazea out.”
Phew!! This was indeed an adventure of sorts. Check the pic above to figure out how much effort was put in to get the actress out from the “messy” situation.
When contacted, Nazea laughed her heart out when we mentioned about the incident, and said, “Yes, it is true that I went into the washroom and could not open the latch. I tried for few minutes after which I had to call for help. Thankfully, the production guys were very quick and reacted immediately. I was out of the washroom in say, 15 minutes. But the fun part was that I had to come out of the window. We were laughing away to glory when I was brought out.”
Aah, must say, a great rescue act on time by the unit members.
