Shakti Anand, who essays the role of Karan in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya, reflects on how single-use plastic quietly infiltrates our daily routines—especially in an on-the-go profession like his. With a renewed sense of responsibility, Shakti is making deliberate efforts to reduce his plastic footprint by carrying a reusable water bottle, personal cutlery, metal straws, and a cloth bag. Here’s what he has to say..
Shakti Anand, who essays the role of Karan in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya said, “As an actor, I’m constantly on the move—shoots, travel, events, and I’ve realized how much single-use plastic sneaks into our daily lives. It’s almost invisible until you start paying attention. This World Environment Day, I’m making a conscious commitment to reduce my plastic footprint. I now carry a reusable water bottle, my own cutlery and metal straws, and always keep a cloth bag with me. On set, I encourage everyone around me to opt for more sustainable choices too. Change doesn’t have to be dramatic—it just needs to be consistent. If each of us takes a few mindful steps, the ripple effect can be powerful. We all have a part to play in ending plastic pollution.”
