MUMBAI: After delivering hit shows such as Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera, Ishq Mein Marjawan, and Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, as well as web series Dear Ishq and Tu Zakhm Hai, producer Yash Patnaik is back with a brand new series called Pyaar Paisa Profit. Based on author Durjoy Datta’s bestselling novel Now That You’re Rich, Let’s Fall In Love, the series is well-awaited amongst his fans.
“ Pyaar Paisa Profit is based on Durjoy Datta’s bestselling novel Now That You’re Rich, Let’s Fall In Love, which immediately resonated with us. The story, centered on ambitious young professionals navigating love, money, and morality, felt deeply relevant in today’s hyper-competitive world. From there, we built a textured narrative that balances emotional nuance with social commentary. Mamta Patnaik has created the series with her writing team of Durjoy Datta and Sumrit Shahi with remarkable clarity, and Prashant Singh’s direction has brought sharp energy and style to the storytelling. With a fabulous ensemble cast—Mihir Ahuja, RJ Mahvash, Neil Bhoopalam, Shivangi Khedekar, and Ashish Raghav—the series truly comes alive,” he says.
Driven by passion and ambition, the story resonates with the youth today, says the producer, adding, “Today’s youth are caught in a whirlwind of aspiration, emotional complexity, and identity exploration. Pyaar Paisa Profit reflects that reality. It dives into the real struggles of balancing professional ambition with personal authenticity, love with survival. The characters are flawed but relatable, driven yet vulnerable, and that honesty connects. It’s not just entertainment; it’s a mirror.”
The show also delves into complex relationships and high-stakes decisions. Sharing the challenges of shooting such sequences, he says, “Emotionally intense scenes are always layered—technically, artistically, and emotionally. But those are the moments that give a series its pulse. Thanks to the nuanced writing and precise execution, we were able to create a space where actors could really dive deep. With such a talented cast, these difficult moments became transformative ones. The emotional truth in the performances was worth every challenge on set.”
Meanwhile, as the series showcases its protagonists taking risks in life, Yash says that he has also always been a fan of trying out new things. “I’ve always believed that if you’re not taking risks, you’re not creating anything meaningful. Both Mamta and I believe—every new idea, every new format, every leap of faith is a risk. Pyaar Paisa Profit itself was a creative gamble—blending a popular novel with contemporary visual storytelling, launching a bold new cast dynamic, and exploring themes that don’t have easy answers. But those are the stories that stay with people. Risks bring growth—both on-screen and off. I am glad Amazon MX Player believed in the show and backed us. It has been a great experience partnering with the Amazon MX Player team while making Pyaar Paisa Profit.”
Talking about how the show has influenced him, he says, “It’s deepened my perspective, for sure. We often think love and ambition are on opposite sides of the spectrum, but the series shows how they shape and test each other. It also raises important questions—what does real success look like, and at what cost? Watching these characters evolve made me think about the compromises we make and the values we hold onto. It’s a reminder that true growth often lies in the spaces we least expect.” The show is streaming on Amazon MX player and getting rave reviews.
