Yash Tonk and Pranali Rathod captured candidly in their look costumes on the sets of Sony TV’s show ‘Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye.’

MUMBAI: Period or historical dramas are unlike other genres. They require utmost precision to create a visual aesthetic that brings conviction on screen. From the costumes of the show to the props and the set design, it needs to be authentic and accurate. Otherwise, it throws the audience completely out of perspective. Keeping this in mind, the makers of Sony TV’s upcoming show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye did an extensive Reece to shortlist the site locations in areas of Punjab and patterned the other design elements, that is costume, lighting in order to create a cohesive overall feel depicting the Pre-Independence era of 1947.

Now, a new behind-the scenes candid still has emerged from the shoot. It showcases Yash Tonk and Pranali Rathod decked up in costumes of the 1940’s era. Yash Tonk who essays the character of Lala Brij Kishore in the show is seen pulling off a mighty moustache along with printed blazers topped with a hat. Along with this, Pranali who plays the  role of Radha is seen adorning a stunning blue ethnic Punjabi outfit with a pallu and heavy old charm jewellery to go with it. Apparently, while the actors were shooting for this market sequence in Amritsar, the shoot had to be stalled for a while as a huge crowd gathered on the location and the onlookers were fascinated to see the shoot set up and especially to see the actors dressed in somewhat unconventional clothes. Needless to say, the entire cast and crew has been shooting non-stop for a month now in the freezing winters of North. Furthermore, these BTS images are a testimony to the fact that the makers are leaving no stone unturned to keep the authenticity of the  pre-partition era alive.

Sharing her thoughts on this, Pranali Rathod, said “I am super excited for my look on the show. It’s a typical Punjabi look and I get to wear all this beautiful old world charm jewellery and I can’t wait to see how the audiences react to it. So far, the love and support from our viewers has been heart-warming, I hope we continue to entertain our audience like this.”

Sony Entertainment Television’s show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye has been in the news from the past few days for all the right reasons. Set in 1947, Lahore, pre-partition India, Kyun Uthe Dil Chod Aaye narrates the story of three young girls - Amrit, Vashma and Radha and brings to light their dreams, hope, aspirations and new found love... all this at the brink of Independence.
