"Zoom does a Santa Banta"

After trying out all other genres of non-fiction, Glamour & Lifestyle channel Zoom, is now adding on a bit of a humour element in its programming line up. "We could be on the road, at a college canteen or at a friend's house" The channel will soon be zooming in with a brand new offering called Santa Banta Unlimited. The show, as the channel puts it, literally promises to deliver nothing, and is aimed at time pass viewing for viewers. An in-house production, the show which will be anchored by RJ Siddharth Kannan (Santa) Indian Rap King Baba Saigal (Banta) and is expected to be aired from July 10, every Monday, 8.30pm. It's an infotainment show, with a humorous twist. Not really a stand up comedy, the show will talk about news, lifestyle issues, film reviews, TV gags of other shows, parties apart from the call ins for `love' problems. Talking about his upcoming show, RJ Siddharth Kannan says, "It's been real fun working on the show, as the script is not bound to the studio. With a rather improvised script, anything could happen. The show has some very light moments like when two friends meet up, they could end up laughing at things which could be nothing great, but still could be rib tickling." While sources close to the channel reveal that Santa and Banta were originally meant to be a radio show, but finally turned out to be a television show. So, here's looking forward to nonstop chatter banter between Santa and Banta!
