MUMBAI: MS Dhoni once again showcased his humility and sportsmanship, earning widespread admiration on social media for a touching gesture toward Chetan Sakariya. After Chennai Super Kings' thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Dhoni initially missed shaking hands with Sakariya during the customary post-match exchange. Realizing his oversight, the CSK legend turned back, warmly greeted the young pacer, and gave him a reassuring pat on the back—an act that left fans applauding Dhoni’s grounded nature.

On the field, CSK managed to break their losing run with a narrow two-wicket win over KKR. Batting first, Kolkata posted 179/6, with Ajinkya Rahane anchoring the innings with a solid 48 off 33 balls. Contributions from Manish Pandey (36) and Andre Russell (38) pushed the total to a competitive score. CSK’s Noor Ahmad shone with the ball, picking up four wickets and applying pressure through the middle overs.

Chasing 180, Chennai’s innings began in disarray as both openers—Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway—fell for ducks. Urvil Patel played a fiery cameo, smashing 31 off just 11 balls, but his dismissal triggered another collapse, reducing CSK to 60/6 by the end of the sixth over.

However, Dewald Brevis steadied the innings with a crucial 52, while Shivam Dube chipped in with 45 to bring CSK back into contention. With eight runs needed off the final over, Dhoni stepped in and sealed the deal by launching a six off the very first delivery, extinguishing KKR’s playoff hopes.

This victory marked only CSK’s third win in 12 matches. Meanwhile, the loss further complicated KKR’s playoff chances—they now sit sixth on the table and must win all remaining games to stay in contention.
