
MUMBAI: Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, edging out New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra for the prestigious honour. Iyer's stellar performances in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy were instrumental in India’s title win, with the middle-order batter finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 243 runs.

His composed and impactful innings helped India navigate through key stages of the tournament. The ICC praised his contributions, noting, “His stroke-play and ability to steady the innings under pressure were crucial to India’s successful campaign.”
Expressing his gratitude, Iyer said, “Being named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month is truly special, especially in a month where we lifted the Champions Trophy. I’m thankful to my teammates, coaches, and fans for their unwavering support.”
Throughout March, Iyer scored 172 runs in three matches, maintaining an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47. His standout performances included scores of 79, 45, and 48 in crucial matches against New Zealand and Australia.
In the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Iyer continues to shine as captain of Punjab Kings, scoring 250 runs in five matches, with a high score of 97 not out and an impressive strike rate of 208.33.
