The day we've all been waiting for is here. After Priyanka Chopra's effortless sartorial game on the global front, we were waiting for Deepika Padukone to up the meter. Well, did she?

For her first intentional red carpet event at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Deepika chose an edgy custom Monisha Jaising. Firstly, kudos for picking an Indian desi get at such a prestigious event. But did that look work? Yes and no.

Yes...because it's Deepika and her gorgeous face and sparkling smile can salvage any outfit. But the outfit, per say, wasn't worthy of an international outfit. Only because it was overkill. The bustier, matching bomber jacket, Valliyan fringe earrings and Balmian belt were all great picks on their own. But when put together, they gave it a 'trying-too-hard' kinda vibe.

Also, the dated Angeline Joli-esque leg pose has to go. That's not up for debate at all.

While the hair and makeup were on-point, the rest of the pieces didn't fall into place seamlessly. Considering the event, her edgy appearance is understandable and needed as well, but too many cooks spoil the broth.
