Alia Bhatt may be stealing the hearts with her sizzling performance in her music debut with Prada. The song and her performance has been appreciated by her close pals from Bollywood industry including her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
However, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has taken to Twitter to accuse Bollywood of plagiarism and stealing Pakistani songs. According to Mehwish, Prada has similarities with the Pakistani song Gore Rang Ka Zamana from 'Vital Signs' album.
According to a report in SpotBoyE, Mehwish tweeted that “Bollywood vilifies Pakistan at every opportunity they get and yet they continue to steal our songs. Copyright violation and royalty payments obviously mean nothing to them."
She also took a jibe at Indian PM Narendra Modi stating that "Indian PM Modi has arguably co-opted and weaponised the country's film industry. It's difficult, often impossible, for Pakistani actors to find work in India,"
According to the media report, Mehwish also mentioned:
"Pakistan is a Muslim majority nation and Islamophobia is a top-down industry in India: at the top, hyper-nationalist films, songs and slogans teach the masses to hate. At the grassroots, Muslims have been killed for so-called crimes like eating beef."
