MUMBAI : The suicide of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Vaishali Thakkar has sent shockwaves through the industry. Where on one side, celebrities are admired for their talent and good fortune of being in showbiz, the other side shows how vulnerable and fragile human beings they are, just like the rest of us. Some situations just get out of hand and no amount of fame and money can come to the rescue.

Meanwhile Vaishali’s ex-BF Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha have been taken into custody by the Indore police. Her brother had said that Rahul had made her life miserable and kept saying, “tera ghar nahin basne dunga”. Vaishali’s close friend Nishant Singh Malkani spoke to a news portal about the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress taking physiatric help. He said, “Rahul was not letting her move on. She was depressed. She had consulted a psychiatrist. I now realize the magnitude of her problem, when I get to hear things such as Rahul wanting to show their intimate pictures to her to-be husband. Intimacy happens if you are in a relationship but that does not mean that you threaten to share those moments with anybody else if you break up.”

Nishant added, “I kept teasing her that she has lost weight and she said that she'll recover those kilos and will be soon coming to Mumbai, before she gets married.”

When asked why Vasihali was seeing a married man, Nishant said, “Rahul was not married when they started seeing each other. There was some parental opposition that led to them not marrying each other. But post his marriage with a certain Disha, Rahul used to blackmail her emotionally and did not let her move on. She wanted to associate herself with someone who really cared for her and when she finally zeroed down on the guy she was supposed to marry in November, she was very happy. Rahul had two kids but refused to let her go. But the irony was that even Rahul's wife Disha kept blaming her and not her husband.”

Vaishali who passed away on 16th October, has been part of popular TV shows like Sasural Simar Ka, Manmohini, Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Raksha Bandhan amongst others. A suicide note was found in her diary that indicated harassment by her ex-boyfriend.
