MUMBAI: "I'm vengeance," was all Robert Pattinson had to say for fans to be sold on his introduction as ‘The Batman’.
Fans of the actor who have been following his film graph since he first melted hearts as Cedric Diggory in the 'Harry Potter' series and then as the hunky Vampire Edward Cullen in the hugely successful teen-romance series ‘Twilight’, were quick to draw parallels. A Twitter user even found a perfect clip that seemingly “foreshadowed” his future superhero role as Batman.

The video in question was a scene in ‘Twilight’ that saw Robert as Edward having a conversation with Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan at their school cafeteria where she theorises that he is a ‘superhero’.
“What if I’m not the hero? What if I’m the bad guy,” he asks. Have a look.

Kristen replies, “You’re not! I can see what you’re trying to put off, but I can see that it’s just to keep people away from you. It’s a mask.”
Fans will have to wait a while before Gotham City’s vigilante detective emerges from the shadows and in theatres in October 2021.
‘The Batman’ also features as Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
