He is popluarly known as "Khiladi Kumar" in Bollywood. Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 in Punjab. He completed is schooling from Don Bosco school in Mumbai and he graduated from Gurunanak Khalsa College, Mumbai. He made a very humble start to is career with the job of a waiter and chef. He is a blackbelt in Taekwondo and has great interest in Martial arts,stunts and adventure sports. Akshay Kumar made his debut in Bollywood with the film Saugandh in 1991.
He worked in several movies followed by that like Khiladi,Main Khiladi tu Anari,Mohra, Yeh Dillagi and Suhaag which were successful and gained him popularity.He also suffered ups and downs in his career spanning from the 1990's.The major hits that he has given Bollywood include Dil toh pagal hai, Hera Pheri,Ajnabee, Awaara Pagal Deewana,Garam masala,Aankhen,Waqt,Mujhse Shaadi Karogi,Jaane-man,BhagamBhaag,OUATIM2,Special 26,HOusefull, Housefull2,Rowdy Rathore,OMG,Singh is Kingg,Thankyou, Heyy Baby,Desi Boyzz,Namastey London, and a lot other films in which he potrayed the lead role as well worked as a supporting cast. He was also acclaimed by the crtics for many of his films and won a worthy number of awards for the same. But there were times when the actor also delivered a string of flops like Joker,CC2C,Khiladi 786,Tees maar Khan,Blue,Kambhakt Ishq,Tashan,8X10 Tasveer,Action Replayy,De Dana Dan etc which failed miserably at the box office.
