MUMBAI: Television industry is blessed with many talented actors, who inspire us both onscreen and off screen. Though every actor teaches us something or the other, but some leave a remarkable impact in our hearts. One such name is Sourabh Raaj Jain. Here we are going to enlist a few reasons why he is an inspiration to many.
1. Trust your struggle
Like many other youths, Sourabh chose acting as his profession against his parents’ will; he came to Mumbai with a bag and just 5000 rupees, after getting selected for Remix. But, living in Mumbai wasn't easy as it seems to many, especially for a person coming from a middle class family like him. Coming and surviving in Mumbai came to him like a culture shock, where most of his co-stars came from well heeled families; his father did not have money to even pay the house rent, as he suffered a huge loss in business. After 'Remix' he thought to give his acting a break and continue with his studies, but earning money was inevitable. So he joined a call centre and used to do night shifts and continued his studies side by side. All this while he did not take a single penny from home and managed it all by himself. Soon after completing BCA, he bagged a role in Balaji Telefilm's Kasam Se and then Parichay. After Parichay, his portrayal of Anand got immense love from fans and he did not have to look back and got one show after another.
2. Versatility is the spice of life
Sourabh Raaj Jain is one of the rare actors who can play both positive and negative characters with equal level of dedication and perfection. He was cheeky and rude as Yuvraj of Uttaran but in another second he was very composed and calm as Lord Vishnu in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. His charm as Krishna of Mahabharat is known to all. The same transformation is seen in Mahakaali where he plays multiple characters -sometimes he is fierce and angry Lord Bhairav, Veerbhadra, while sometimes he is tranquil and divine Lord Shiva. Currently, he is gaining accolades as evil and wicked demon king Jalandhar.
3. Dedication for work
Sourabh rightly proves why work is worship. He used to do double shifts to continue shooting for Mahabharat and Devon Ke Dev Mahadev; for this he used to travel daily up-down from Umergaon to Mumbai and then back to Umergaon as both the sets were located at different locations. He even learnt Telugu language for his Telugu movie Om Namo Venkatesaya as he didn't want to use flash cards to speak his lines, so he crammed the lines and then delivered it so that it comes out naturally onscreen. His dedication is again seen in Mahakaali, where he had to prepare Tandav dance in a very few days and despite being a non dancer, he did it with utmost grace.
4. Let's try something New!
From acting in youth based shows like Remix to playing God onscreen to anchoring crime based show like Savdhan India to presenting the funny side of Akbar in Hazir Jawab Birbal to hosting a radio show Arth, Sourabh has tried several things and has made a special place in each show with his talent.
5. Work hard and stay humble
At a young age of 27, Sourabh became a household name as lord Krishna of Mahabharat. Be it the success of Mahakaali or Mahabharat, he never let his stardom affect his personality; he is humble and grounded and he never credited himself for the success that he has achieved. He always gives away the credit to his fans, writers and makers of the show and calls himself just a face that portrays all these larger than life roles.
6. Love your family
Apart from being a successful actor, Sourabh is a complete family man who can't imagine life without his mom, and sees her as his inspiration. He loves his wife Ridhima and is a caring husband. Recently, he has been blessed with twin bundles of joy, but most of the time Sourabh stays in Umergaon. Amidst the busy schedule, Sourabh stays in touch with the new additions through video chats which shows how affectionate he is about his family.
7. Away from rumours and publicity stunts
Sourabh is one of the rarest actors who never indulged in any publicity stunt. Rumours are something that has never touched this star. Simplicity is the mantra of his life; he believes in hardcore professionalism and practices the same.
