We recently broke the news that Shweta Khanduri will be seen in the web series The Bitch and Hastinapur. The actress is all set to welcome the year with some of the most interesting projects in her kitty.
The actress became a household face with her performance in shows like Baalveer Returns and Aladdin and has also made her mark in films like Sharma Ji Ki Lag Gayi and The Judgement Day.
Tellychakkar got into a candid conversation with the actress about her latest projects
Tell us about your current projects and a brief overview of your character?
I am currently shooting for The Bitch and Hastinapur. My characters in both of the shows are poles apart. The Bitch is a woman-centric film where it revolves around the desires of a greedy woman(played by me) and her selfish desires to reach a certain goal whereas Hastinapur is a multi-starrer Political Thriller where I am essaying the character of a cop's wife who fights the system after her husband's death.
How are you managing to get into the skin of two different characters at the same time?
Well, that is the sheer art of an actor. My character in both the series is literally north and south pole. From playing a simple, responsible girl in Hastinapur to an outspoken and bold woman in The Bitch it's a total shift. It does take a toll mentally but in a way it makes me feel very satisfied as I am able to offer my fans different flavors of my skill.
How has your journey in the entertainment industry been so far?
It has been a learning process for me as I have made sure to take up different characters at all times which has helped me develop a great understanding of the craft. From doing dual roles in Balveer Returns to Aleeza in Aladdin I think I have grown as an actor over time. My most special character will always be Balveer Returns' Milsa as it made me challenge myself as an actor. It is one of my most cherished memories.
Who is your favorite co-star you enjoy working the most with?
I think all of them are very unique, I have learned something new from each of my co-stars. Siddharth Nigam is very hardworking, I was always amazed to see his dedication, with Dev it is very effortless, his acting is so effortless, that's very unique.. I love the way he calls me 'didi'(laughs). Vansh the Chota balveer is such an intelligent little boy.. I think I am blessed to always have such sweet co-stars.
Do you feel OTT has open new doors?
Definitely, 100 percent and not just for actors but for every technician. It is a totally new world ready to be explored. Digital World is like a fresh breath of air for viewers also. Our opportunities have doubled up after its introduction and its a boon for the entire industry.
What are your plans for the year 2021?
Actually, I am working on the new year and to tell you the truth I feel blessed because of that. I am doing what I love the most in this world-my craft and that I think is a blessing. Moreover, its a good omen to be working on the last day of the year(chuckles). I feel 2021 is going to open many doors for me as an established actor, I am really looking forward to the year.
Well, the actress surely has a long way to go!
