MUMBAI: The coronavirus pandemic has taken a heavy toll on the entertainment industry. A lot of shows have been axed while many new projects have been postponed.
TellyChakkar has learnt that web-series like Bandish Bandits and Breathe 2 which was supposed to launch on Amazon Prime in the month of June have been pushed to August.
It has been said that many filmmakers have decided to take their projects to video streaming platforms, instead of waiting for a theatrical release. Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi along with Tamil films- Ponmagal Vandhal, LAW will supposedly release on Amazon Prime. Hence, Bandish Bandits and Breathe 2 have been postponed.
The psychological thriller series Breathe 2 will star talented Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is making his digital debut with this series.
Bandish Bandits is about Indian classical singer Radhe and pop star Tamanna. The lead roles are played by Shreya Singh Chaudhry and Ritwik Bhowmik along with actors Rituraj K. Singh, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sanjay Nath, Naseeruddin Shah, Tridha Choudhury, and Meghna Malik. A major role will also be played by Sheeba Chaddha in this series.
