MUMBAI: After impressing audiences with his emotionally resonant performances, Babil Khan is now stepping into a bold new role in ZEE5’s upcoming original film Log Out. Directed by Amit Golani, the film has already created a buzz on the international festival circuit and is now set for its digital premiere on the platform.
The freshly dropped trailer introduces us to Pratyush, a young social media influencer navigating the highs of online fame and the steep emotional costs that come with it. Babil slips into the skin of a Gen Z internet star with striking ease—owning the look, lingo, and vibe of a character that's both captivating and dangerously relatable.
The trailer opens with the haunting line: “Hum phone par kuch dekhte nahi hai; hum phone par jeete hai.” (“We don’t just watch things on the phone—we live in it.”) This sets the stage for a compelling narrative about how digital lives increasingly dominate our reality.
As Pratyush’s follower count begins to dwindle, things take a sinister turn. He finds himself entangled in a disturbing situation when an obsessed fan enters his life, threatening his safety and pushing him into a downward spiral of fear and unpredictability. What unfolds is a chilling, thought-provoking exploration of the dark side of digital adoration and the price of constantly living in the spotlight.
Babil’s portrayal is already winning praise for its depth and realism. He not only transforms his appearance but also embodies the vulnerability and swag of a social media figure with remarkable finesse. This marks a significant shift from his previous roles, and it’s one that audiences are eagerly looking forward to.
In addition to Log Out, Babil will soon be seen in the Indo-American fantasy film Yakshi and an untitled romantic drama that remains under wraps for now.
With Log Out, Babil Khan continues to push boundaries and solidify his position as one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cinema.
