MUMBAI: Nikkita Ghag is a multifaceted artist who has left a remarkable imprint on the entertainment industry. Celebrated for her diverse talent, she has garnered acclaim in popular series such as "Bekaaboo 3" and "Fuh Se Fantasy." Expanding her repertoire, she ventured into production with "Anandi" on Disney Plus Hotstar. Recently, she starred in the web series "Pyaar Ka Bazaar Karobaar" on the digital platform Altt, taking on the lead role and adding another achievement to her flourishing career. Nikkita shares that she prefers performing bold scenes on screen to avoid compromising in her personal life. She also skillfully balances her personal and professional lives by keeping them distinct.
In discussing the importance of separating actors from the characters they portray, Nikkita says, "It is extremely important. An actor's ability to immerse themselves in a role and convincingly portray a character is a testament to their skill. However, this should not blur the lines between the character and the actor. Understanding this separation allows for a healthier interaction between actors and their audience, fostering respect for their professional craft without intruding on their personal lives."
Addressing the stereotype that actors, particularly women not from industry backgrounds, get roles only through compromising, she says, "This is a damaging stereotype that undermines the hard work and talent of many actors. Getting roles should be based on merit, talent, and dedication. While there are certainly challenges and issues in the industry, it is unfair to generalize and assume that success comes only through compromise. We need to recognize and celebrate the genuine talent and effort that many actors bring to their craft."
On the topic of performing bold scenes on screen to avoid compromising off-screen, Nikkita candidly shares, "I prefer doing bold scenes on screen so that I don't have to compromise off-screen to secure projects. I've never been inclined to do anything bold off-screen, which includes avoiding situations like the casting couch. Doing bold scenes on screen is a professional choice that allows me to maintain my personal boundaries and safety."
