MUMBAI: Diljit Dosanjh has become an icon in the music world with a massive fan following that supports him in every venture that he explores, be it his singing, his acting or his international collaboration. Diljit has explored the acting side very well with some great response from the audience for his performance in Good Newwz, Jogi, Amar Singh Chamkila, Crew and many more. He has not just acted in Hindi movies but also Punjabi movies.
Now Ravi Chhabriya is making his directorial debut with the upcoming ZEE5 movie Detective Sherdil, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Boman Irani, Sumeet Vyas, Diana Penty, Banita Sandhu, Kashmira Irani, Ratna Pathak and many more. Ravi Chhabriya is surely making his directorial debut but he isn’t new to the world of entertainment as he has years of experience as an assistant director for many projects like Bharat, Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan, Joker and some more.
In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, Ravi Chhabriya opened up about his experience working with Diljit Dosanjh and how the actor/singer worked on his craft and dedicated himself, especially when it came to speaking English.
When asked to Ravi Chhabriya about how he worked with Diljit for his character and the language, the director said, “What is a detective? He has to be silent in most of the cases, he has to not expose himself majorly, and he himself is that way in real life. He’s a very calm, composed, yeh nahi ki shot ke pehle woh aake hassi mazaak kar rahe hai. He is so chill and so composed and so focused toh actually Paaji is that character. In real life he is calm, composed yet when he needs to be funny, he is super funny. So that helps Sherdil also because as a detective he’s very silent, very calm, just giving out smiles because itne hectic situations hote hai…”
Sherdil introduces Diljit Dosanjh as a detective. The movie will be available to stream on Zee5 from June 20.
