MUMBAI : Rithvik Dhanjani is one of the most popular actors on the small screen. 

The talented actor became a household name for his role Arjun Kirloskar in Zee TV's show Pavitra Rishta. 

The actor was paired opposite Asha Negi in the show and their on-screen jodi became a huge hit among the fans.  He is also popularly known for his role in Star One's show Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani.

Popular TV actor Rithvik Dhanjani will be seen hosting 'Datebaazi', an online dating show. Created by Frames, the series is set to premiere on December 1 exclusively on Amazon mini tv for free.

The dating show will see parents taking over their kid's dating applications and making rational decisions. Joining Rithvik will be celeb guests like Shilpa Shetty, Bharti Singh, and Uorfi Javed.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his new gig as a host, dating shows, and more.

You are seeing some bizarre connections on Datebazzi, if you could choose two actor friends of yours to go on the show, who would you choose and what do you think would happen?

One would definitely be Karan Wahi, and for the world to see him on the show, all the women love him because he is a chocolate boy, good looking boy and I just want to see how he will choose someone, because his choices are really bizarre, from one end to the other, his spectrum is really broad,I have never been able to put him in bracket like about his type and I want to see that and the second one is Rajat Barmecha, he desperately needs to be on a dating show and he needs to date, it’s been a very very long time since my boy is single, I need to find him a date, I can’t see my boy for crying out loud in this phase.

This is an interesting hosting show, what has been your takeaway from a show like Datebaazi, any special moments that have stayed?

You know the fact, that how wonderfully these singles and parents have come closer in communicating wth each other, that is something that has really really stood out for me and it is because in so many episodes we have seen the chain of communication open up for the parents and they have accepted that oh, these is what our child is like and this what they don’t like, this is something I would to take away andthe fact that there has been so much love all around, there have been so many episodes where, there was an LGBTQIA+ episode and the mother was the one who chose th epartner was just very heart warming, so these are the moments and all the love that I am taking away from the show. 

In today’s generation where so much of dating depends on right and left swipes, what is your definition of love, are you old school romantic ?

Absolutely old school, I am not the right-left swipe kind of person at all, I can’t do it, I have never done it, never been on a dating app and I don’t think I can be on them as well.
