EXCLUSIVE: I left my engineering studies to become an actor: Swadesh Mishra on his acting journey

Actor Swadesh Mishra, who is known for his show Vidya and is all set to make his digital debut, spoke to TellyChakkar with regard to his acting journey and the types of characters he looks forward to doing on OTT.

MUMBAI: Swadesh Mishra is trying to make a strong mark in the industry. We have seen the actor in successful television serial Vidya on Colors and in Amma Ke Babu Ki Baby. He looks forward to doing something different and is now all set for his digital debut.

Team TellyChakkar got an exclusive chance to speak with Swadesh with regard to his acting journey, where he also spoke in detail about the types of characters he looks forward to on digital platforms.

He comes from Lucknow and did not have a specific plan to become an actor, but he developed a love for acting over time while he used to perform small plays during his college days. Later, on the suggestion of his friend, he joined the acting world. Initially, his parents were totally against it because they wanted him to be a successful engineer. But he quit his B. Tech studies and went to Delhi to join theatre. He did theatre for five years, and in 2017, he came to Mumbai. He has seen many struggles in his life and gone through several auditions to crack his very first proper acting project, which was the series Vidya.

Swadesh Mishra on types of characters he looks forward to do on digital platform

The actor says that he looks forward to doing some amazing characters on digital platforms. He is currently in the discussion process with regard to few digital projects. He says that the fans will surely see him soon on OTT. Having said that, the actor looks forward to doing different and challenging characters on digital platforms. He would love to do negative and as well as comic roles.

The actor said when he was doing theatre in Delhi, where he was living alone, he had a brain tumor. And this phase of his life has been one of the toughest phases. He did not want to tell his family as there could be a sudden break in his acting career. He fought by himself for a span of three years against this illness. He never looked behind and always stayed positive in his life. He successfully defeated the illness and was back into the acting world.
