MUMBAI : Shernavaz Jijina is known for playing the role of Shabnam in Mirzapur season 2. Before Mirzapur 2, she was seen in Bang Baaja Baarat which was produced by Yash Raj Films.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Shernavaz and spoke to her about how she decided to become an actor, Mirzapur season 3 and more...
How did the whole journey of becoming an actor start for you?
I wanted to be a lot of things growing up, and acting was a great amalgamation of them all. I could be a model one day, a doctor the next day, or a teacher. So it was easy for me to get drawn to acting, and having beginner's luck, I got my first project, Bang Baaja Baaraat, early on. It was on the sets, performing in front of the camera, where I realized how badly I wanted to do this and how eager I was to really grow in my craft.

How was your experience of working with the star cast of Mirzapur and Bang Baaja Baaraat?
It was absolutely incredible. Some of them like Priyanshu, Angira and Ali have become very good friends and special people in my journey. In fact, Priyanshu, Ali, and I are in both the shows together. As a newcomer, who you work with and how you are treated is so important. So I am fortunate that I had such amazing souls around who were patient, open to discussions, and so loving.
Can you tell us something about your upcoming projects?
I am super excited for Mirzapur 3. I really hope that my character gets as much love as it did in season 2. My upcoming film, Rannchhod with Naseeruddin Shah is due to be released and I am working on two other OTT projects, details of which I will share soon.
