MUMBAI: Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher faces one of his most formidable adversaries yet, Paulie, played by Olivier Richters, in the third season of Prime Video’s globally acclaimed series, Reacher. Boasting heart-pounding action sequences, power-packed performances, and jaw-dropping plot twists, the latest instalment has already bowled fans over, with the newly released sixth episode, Smoke on the Water, intensifying the suspense to a whole new level, dropping clues to where the next big event will take place. Since the premiere of Reacher Season 3, Olivier Richters has been drawing overwhelming praise for his stellar portrayal of a ruthless Paulie, one of Quinn’s trusted henchmen. But did you know that he bagged the role in the series because of none other than Jack Reacher himself – Alan Ritchson?
Olivier credits Alan for suggesting him to the casting team, revealing the fascinating story of how he landed the part in the fan-favourite franchise. Expressing gratitude for his co-star, he shares, “Alan played a significant role in this process; he mentioned that he found me, possibly on Reddit or from an Instagram video. He suggested to the casting team, 'If you need a big guy, consider Olivier.' I owe a lot to Alan for giving that tip, as it was a key reason I got the casting opportunity.” He also recounts his initial encounter with Ritchson, praising his professionalism, support, and valuable advice on set, adding, “The first time we met was during stunt training for an arm wrestling scene. We were both checking each other out, sizing up, but we hit it off right away with a handshake and a nice conversation. I was really impressed by Alan, given how he managed to keep such an impressive physique while balancing scripts, diet, and three kids. He was great at offering helpful tips for my performance, like how to react authentically when someone falls out of a truck. He didn't have to do that, but it made my acting feel more realistic. I truly appreciated his professionalism and support on set.”
Based on the eponymous novel series by Lee Child, Reacher is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and Paramount Television Studios. The action crime thriller is written for television by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (FUBAR, Prison Break), who also serves as the executive producer and showrunner. In addition to Santora and Child, Ritchson serves as an executive producer, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell, while Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge for Skydance Television. Directed by Sam Hill and Gary Fleder, Reacher S3 stars Alan Ritchson, Maria Sten, Sonya Cassidy, Johnny Berchtold, Roberto Montesinos, Olivier Richters, Brian Tee, and Anthony Michael Hall in pivotal roles. The first six episodes of the latest season are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video, with new episodes releasing weekly on Thursday, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada dubs.
