MUMBAI: Movie India Lockdown, which is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, has been the talk of the town ever since the trailer was out. The movie, which has some amazing bunch of talented people like Pratik Babbar, Ahana Kumra, Shweta Basu Prasad and Sai Tamhankar, undoubtedly promises to give out some hard-hitting story lines of the challenging period of the lockdown.
The movie has finally hit the digital platform and here is a complete review of the movie. One thing is for sure, that the movie is a clear victim of weak execution and some weak performances.
Talking about the premise of the movie, as the title suggests, India Lockdown throws light on the lockdown situation in India and how different section of people have tried to survive this challenging period. The direction of the movie is average and the screenplay is very weak. Also, the movie falls flat at many places.
Talking about the performance, no doubt, it was out and out Shweta Basu Prasad show. She is such actress in the movie, who will definitely grab your attention with her beautiful performance throughout. She is playing the character of a sex worker and how sex workers survived and faced the challenges is beautifully portrayed by her. On the other hand, Pratik Barber will be seen playing as the migrant who is staying in Mumbai along with his wife played by Sai Tamhankar, who have two children. Pratik Babbar struggles to be in his character. On the other hand, Sai Tamhankar has done a brilliant job as the house maid. Last, but not the least, Ahana Kumra was decent on her part.

Talking about the positive point of the movie, it has to be the concept, which we have less seen in Bollywood. The subject of the movie is hard-hitting and the categories of the people which are shown in the movie, especially of the sex workers have not been displayed in the previous movies or web series. On the other hand, performance coming from actors like Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad and Prakash Belawadi will definitely grab your attention and sadly they are the only saving factor of the movie.
Talking about the negative point of the movie, it has to be the execution of the movie which falls flat at many places. Pratik Babbar, as mentioned earlier looks like he is struggling to be in his character and that can be seen from his pronunciation and behaviour. On the other hand, the sequences of Ahana Kumra look really forceful and towards the end, it may bore you. There are unnecessary intimate scenes shown in the movie which were not required. The climax of the movie is also a big disappointment. The movie ends in abrupt manner.
Well, having said all these points, movie India Lockdown, coming from one of the finest film makers of Bollywood Madhur Bhandarkar, is strictly average and can be seen if you are a strictly Mandur Bhandarkar movie fan. This movie is the clear victim of weak execution with some weak performances. The subjects chosen is beautiful, but lacks at many department.
Team TellyChskkar goes with 2.5/5 for India Lockdown.
