MUMBAI: After the success of London Confidential, ZEE5 adds a second film to its spy-thriller franchise with Lahore Confidential. It will be available for streaming on the platform from December 11, 2020.
The film stars Richa Chadha, Arunoday Singh, Karishma Tanna, and Khalid Siddiqui.
While the first film of the spy-thriller franchise started its journey in London, it has come closer to home with the second film. It is based in our neighbouring country of Pakistan.
Directed by Kunal Kohli (Hum Tum, Fanaa) and created by former investigative journalist turned crime writer, S. Hussain Zaidi, Lahore Confidential revolves around two spies from two opposing countries.

The official teaser of the film starts with Ananya’s voiceover, played by Richa Chadha, delivering an Urdu couplet. The couplet ends with the classic line of “For all is fair in love and war!”
And thus starts the thrilling journey of romance and deception between a RAW agent, Ananya, and an ISI agent, who is portrayed by Arunoday Singh.
Karishma Tanna plays the role of another RAW agent who is loyal to a fault to her job and believes that an agent can never have a friend or a lover. She says as much to her fellow agent Ananya, vehemently calling the people across the border ‘our enemies’.
London Confidential gave us a glimpse of the post-pandemic era while Lahore Confidential seems to be based on the age-old India-Pakistan rivalry.
