MUMBAI: Netflix announced 17 films and series titles that will release directly on the streaming platform. This includes Alankrita Shrivastava's Bombay Begums, a series that marks the comeback of Pooja Bhatt as an actress.
The series boasts of a great female ensemble cast, which includes Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur and Aadhya Anand, along with Pooja Bhatt. Netflix shared the first look of the five actresses and captioned it as, "Watch these #BombayBegums deal with desire, ethics, personal crises and vulnerabilities to own their ambition, in contemporary urban India - without letting their crowns slip. @poojab1972 @shahanagoswami @amrutasubhash @plabita.manu @aadhya_anand (sic)."

Director Alankrita Shrivastava shared the first look of the series on social media and wrote, "Join the 5 women as they embark on a journey of desire, ethics, personal crises and vulnerabilities. As glass ceilings are shattered, and hearts are broken the women learn the power of sisterhood in the face of adversity. @poojab1972 @shahanagoswami @amrutasubhash @PlabitaB (sic)."

The series revolves around five women belonging to different generations who are struggling with their desires, ethics and vulnerabilities to make a mark in the male-dominated society. It is about how these women brave all odds to find their true identity and end up being friends.
