MUMBAI: Filmmaker Vikas Bahl, the director of Queen and Super 30, is now gearing up to make his digital debut with a web show titled Sunflower for ZEE5.
The crime comedy is set in a middle-class housing society in Mumbai called Sunflower. The series is written by Mr Bahl. It is co-directed by Rahul Sengupta and is produced by Reliance Entertainment and Good Co.
There have been reports about comedian and actor Sunil Grover being roped in for this forthcoming series. Grover recently made a small screen comeback with the show Gangs of Filmistaan on Star Bharat, where he plays the role of a don named Bhindi Bhai. The actor has also worked in films such as Bharat, Gabbar is Back and Baaghi.
Now, we hear that the series will also feature talented actor Ranvir Shorey in a pivotal role.
Ranvir is critically acclaimed for films such as Traffic Signal, Bheja Fry, Pyaar Ke Side Effects and many more. Ranvir has also been part of web-series like Rangbaaz, Bombers, High and many more.
With production underway, Sunflower is slated for an April 2021 release.
