MUMBAI : The highly anticipated film Sadak 2, a sequel of 1991 blockbuster film Sadak, was among one of the 7 new films that were announced to release on Disney + Hotstar, along with Laxmmi Bomb, The Big Bull, Bhuj, Lootcase, Dil Bechara, Khuda Haafiz. Sadak 2 stars Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, and the film has finally got a release date! Alia Bhatt took to her social media to announce when the film will premiere on the OTT platform.
Alia Bhatt took to her Twitter sharing the new poster of Sadak 2 which also reveals the release date, that is, August 28. She wrote, “Sadak 2, the road to love streaming on @DisneyPlusHotstarVIP from 28 August #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex #AdityaRoyKapur @poojab1972 #MukeshBhatt #SuhritaSengupta @mohankapur#akshayanandd.” With only about three weeks to go for the film to premiere, we are sure fans are super excited. Sadak 2 marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return to filmmaking after 20 years. He had also helmed the 1991 film Sadak.
A few days ago, Pooja Bhatt had shared some monochromatic BTS pictures from the time when they shot for the movie. The pictures featured Alia Bhatt, Pooja, Mahesh, Sanjay, Jisshu Sengupta and other crew members too.

Sadak 2 had garnered some controversy after Netizens demanding to boycott the film over nepotism debate. Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt will be seen in lead roles in Sadak 2, while Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt will resume their original roles. Alia, while speaking about the film with PTI, said, “The story of Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) will move forward. He meets these two new people (Alia-Aditya). The film has different love stories and also has (an element of) thrill. The villain is someone very different and totally unexpected.
