MUMBAI :Sakshi Mago, who is famously known for being a part of Love School season 3, will next be seen in a web series titled Kode Lag Gaye Ji. The web series also stars Samridh Bawa in the lead role, and it is directed by Ashrit Wadhwa.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Sakshi and spoke to her about the web series, her experience of working with Ashrit Wadhwa, and more...
Tell us something about your role in Kode Lag Gaye Ji.
My role in Kode Lag Gaye Ji is very relatable. I am playing a 22-23-year-old girl who is studying and has a career to focus on, but then she finds that she is pregnant and she comes from a very conservative family. So, she is very scared to let them know and she plans to run away with the guy. We all know that guys these days would run away in such situations, but my guy in the story plans on running away with me which is cut out for all the girls who dream of such a guy. But jokes apart, I think a lot of us are going to relate to it because being in our society you cannot share these things with your family and friends. It’s funny yet serious, and I am damn sure you will love it.
How was your experience of working with Ashrit Wadhwa?
I will tell you honestly it wasn’t like a shoot trip, to be very honest, it was a vacation. It was more of friends working together than an actor or a director. He is the most comfortable person to work with. He has that charm in him wherein even if it’s a stressed-out environment, he can set it right, put things together and make people work very calmly. I did not feel any pressure for those 15-20 days; it wasn’t stressful at all.
In a rom-com, the chemistry between the leads is very important, so how easy or difficult was it to get the chemistry right with Samridh?
If I have to talk about Samridh I have to laugh for 10 minutes and then start talking because I have so much to say about him. It was for the very first time that I acted in a rom-com and I didn’t expect that Samridh would be the most wonderful co-actor to work with. He made it so easy. If you do something and he has to smile, it’s so sarcastic that you tend to laugh because you don’t know if he is genuinely laughing or sarcastically laughing. For 20 days I was behind his back saying ‘this is very sarcastic, tum sachi mein hass rahe ho ya mazak kar rahe ho’ and he is like no I am talking normally. We used to have gossip sessions, and I made a friend for life and I could vibe with him comfortably. When you are comfortable with the person it becomes so easy to shoot all the scenes. It’s just a very different feeling. He is very supportive and he has been in the industry for quite a long time, so he was guiding throughout and also being a friend to me. Also, if the vibe is nice, then definitely the chemistry will be nice.
Kode Lag Gaye Ji will premiere on MX Player on 6th March 2023.
